Emergency Contraception

Emergency Contraception (EHC)

The emergency contraceptive pill can be used after unprotected sex or where a contraceptive method has failed and is not to be used as a regular means of contraception .

Although these medicines are often called the morning after pill they can be used upto 5-days after unprotected sexual intercourse depending on medicine type. They all will only work if you have not already ovulated which for most women is midway or day 14 of your cycle. Therefore, we would suggest since time is of the essence when taking this, EHC is bought only on a standby basis beforehand or for future use.

If you require the morning-after pill now, please visit a pharmacy in person (search for a pharmacy near you)
